News From The Managers 13/7/11: Thread Creation Problem Fixed I think I fixed the thread creation error. Even so, we'd best be careful when creating new posts. -Lok 25/6/11: "Thread Creation Failed" I just got this message twice while trying to create a new thread. This is a reminder to everyone to back up your posts before you submit them. This is an old system and far from perfect. While it usually works, you may encounter situations like this, and since it doesn't use session forms, if you don't back up and it errors YOU WILL LOSE YOUR POST. If we get enough users for me to build the proposed new EoC message board system, I'll at least use session forms so work is preserved if errors happen. That won't happen for a long time, so for now, just be careful. -Lok 19/6/11: Setting Maps I've updated every single map. Take a look. -Lok 14/6/11: Continent Map The continent map is finally up. Have you ever wanted to know about the land outside of the Central Empire? You'll find it here. -Lok 13/6/11: War! Ordinator Alauniira and I intend to resurrect the Silent Observer thread, which will kick off the war between the Arachai Empire and the nation of Vit Avorn, the only nation to the north and west of Arachai. We will focus on strategic locations: The fortress city of Gajen and the port city of Cratia. The army reserves in the soldier cities will be deployed to Gajen first. So far we have arranged that Alauniira will participate, and I will bring in Lok and the moody Ordinator from Ghosts That Walk. The opposing armies will be mostly NPC, but please create new characters for the opposing forces if you want to. Kate, if your character ends up in the military after Ghosts That Walk, we could use your help; we need all the military characters we can get! And Halo, if the characters in The Revolution Begins end up trying to effect change by some sort of force, the army's absence will help them out. -Lok 19/11/10: Tell Your Friends It looks like we've got some of our momentum back, folks. I don't know about you, but I've been having a great time on the boards. We've got a few new members, all of whom I can tell are fantastic additions to the community. But no matter how great the players are, more is always merrier! So, with hopes of not sounding too much like a marketer, I'd like to ask you to do a favour for all of your fellow players: If you like playing here, pass the word along to the other players you know so they can find out about the EoC firsthand. That way, we can keep our newly-rediscovered momentum permanently. -Lok 12/11/10: Historic Threads I'm planning to start progressing through the recent history of the Empire in my RP threads. These threads will be marked by the date of their occurrence. This history will tell the story of the rise to power of Lok and the collapse of the old culture, to the point when Thanatos became Lord Commander, and beyond. Whenever you feel the urge, feel free to jump into a thread. There is a general path these threads must follow, of course, being historic; but part of the reason for them is to fill in the Empire's history. Ideally, branches off of the main storyline will generate entirely new parallel storylines. -Lok 25/3/08: The Chat Room Ideally we would like the site to be able to run as a standalone Roleplay medium for all of our players. However I'd say about nintey percent of you I pulled from Oasiz. Seeing how hard it is to convert chat-based roleplayers to board and forum based I'm trying to keep the room open at least once every day. But like most of us I have a job and a life to deal with at the same time. If any of you are interested in helping me by opening the room when I am unable to, just drop me a line.
